ASK (Adapted Sports for Kids)

The A.S.K. Program is a uniquely designed Sports and Recreation program for children ages 6 to 18 with special needs. A.S.K. is an award-winning series of seasonal sports for children who are physically or mentally challenged, regardless of residency.

Since 1991, under the direction of Middleburg Heights Recreation Department staff, A.S.K. participants have been taught the fundamentals of sport, good sportsmanship and how to have FUN!

Thanks to the support of the Kiwanis Club, shirts are provided to each participant and an annual banquet/award ceremony and DJ dance is held for all participants and their families at no charge. This innovative program continues our commitment to provide sports-related activities to children of all abilities with the emphasis on fun and learning.

Seasonal programs include:

Winter - Basketball & Bowling (Register in November; session begins in January). You can download the basketball registration form and/or the bumper bowling registration form.

Summer - Baseball (day and evening), Tennis and Swimming (held on Mondays from 7-8 pm by the Midd. Hts. Women's Club---no sign-ups required---one ASK participant and one adult are admitted FREE). You can download the baseball registration form and tennis registration form.

You can also download the Medical Release form which needs to accompany the registration forms.
