Southwest General Health Center Named One of the Nations's 100 Top Hospitals.
Southwest General Health Center in the City of Middleburg Heights was recently named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by Thomson Healthcare, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of health care.
The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, financial performance and efficiency. This is the second consecutive year that Southwest General has been recognized with this honor.
Southwest General is a 354-bed community hospital that provides comprehensive primary and specialty services to the communities it serves. It is recognized for excellence in such services as orthopedics, cardiac care, and surgery.
Cardiovascular Medicine Associates Gains International Accreditation.
Cardiovascular Medicine Associates, located at 7255 Old Oak Blvd. in Middleburg Heights, was recently granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL). The ICANL has developed an internationally recognized accreditation program that evaluates the quality of critical elements of a nuclear cardiology laboratory. Middleburg Heights is proud that Cardiovacular Medicine Associates is one of the first nuclear cardiology laboratories in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be so recognized for its commitment to high quality patient care and its provision of quality diagnostic testing.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Completes $7 Million Renovation.
 The Crowne Plaza Hotel, 7230 Engle Road, has unveiled a $7 million renovation which has transformed the hotel into an upscale facility with a high level of service.
The 238 guest rooms include wireless internet access and a 32-inch flat screen TV. Other amenities include a hotel shuttle, fitness room, sundry shop, business center, indoor pool and a full-service restaurant with a bar.
The restaurant, which is open to the public, is operated by Bucci's Italian Restaurant and offers a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu.
The Crowne Plaza also offers over 16,000 square feet of flexible meeting space including a Grand Ballroom dubbed "The Place to Meet," which can host up to 800 guests. In total, the Crowne Plaza offers 16 meeting rooms including two tiered theater rooms.

Department of Development Opens Office in Beijing.
The Ohio Department of Development International Trade Division has opened a global trade office in Beijing.
The office can assist local companies seeking to export goods or services to China with establishing connections and all other aspects of expanding into a foreign market.
A specific foreign trade specialist has been assigned to assist Middleburg Heights businesses with expanding into a number of foreign markets.
