Traffic Count Data

The following organizations and resources are available to assist with business expansion or development projects. The Department of Economic Development can provide additional assistance with accessing these resources.

 


The mission of the Cuyahoga County Department of Development is to foster strong neighborhoods, support safe, decent and affordable housing, and promote economically sound communities through programs that address issues vital to local business growth and enhanced employment opportunities within Cuyahoga County.

The primary focus of the Community & Economic Development Division is to promote livable neighborhoods that enhance the well being of Cuyahoga County residents by creating strong, diverse local economies through various programs.

These programs include the Brownfield Redevelopment Fund which assists with assembling property and addressing environmental issues; the Economic Development Fund which provides businesses financial assistance to retain and create jobs for County residents. The fund provides long term, fixed-rate financing at interest rates lower than conventional financing; the Storefront Renovation Program which is aimed at improving the existing stock of commercial buildings, by providing building owners with loans to make improvements to the exterior and interior of these important structures; and the Grow Cuyahoga County Fund which is designed to assist eligible small business owners within Cuyahoga County obtain loans to grow their businesses and create jobs. Low interest loans of between $35,000 and $1 million are available and may also be used for retail and restaurant development projects.

 


The Cuyahoga County Economic Development staff has compiled a comprehensive the 2007 Economic Development Assistance Handbook which lists all economic development, financial, and technical assistance available from various organizations in Cuyahoga County to benefit businesses.

 

 

 


Team Neo is the regional economic development organization which combines the resources of the Northeast Ohio area to accelerate business growth, and unites the region to attract businesses by offering connections, targeted attraction, expansion services marketing and research.

The City of Middleburg Heights coordinates its economic development efforts with Team NEO, and holds a position on the Team NEO Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee.





Working directly with communities and businesses, the Ohio Department of Development promotes economic opportunities to improve the profits and prosperity of Ohio's citizens. The Department acting in a support role provides financial, informational, and technical assistance to those making an investment in Ohio's future.

 

Ohio Means BusinessAs a cabinet level agency, the Department oversees a full portfolio of programs including: business attraction and retention, small business growth, technology commercialization, export promotion, travel promotion, energy efficiency, affordable housing, community infrastructure, downtown revitalization and brownfield clean-up.

The Ohio Department of Development works to provide assistance to firms of all sizes and backgrounds in an effort to cultivate a successful business climate. The Department offers a variety of business development resources and incentives -- all with a common goal -- to generate new investment in the state and create and retain jobs for Ohio’s outstanding workforce.


International Trade

The City of Middleburg Heights works closely with the International Trade Division (ITD) of the Ohio Department of Development. The ITD promotes the export of Ohio products and services to strengthen Ohio's economy and advance its leadership position in the global marketplace. The ITD provides companies with market research; performs agent and distributor searches; participates in trade shows; organizes trade missions; and assists with export finance. ITD also works with the Economic Development Division to promote Ohio and attract foreign investments into the state.

Ohio's international trade offices are located in Brussels, Belgium; Tokyo, Japan; Hong Kong, People's Republic of China; Toronto, Canada; Tel Aviv, Israel; Mexico City, Mexico; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Johannesburg, South Africa.  In addition, a new international trade office has been opened in Shanghai, China.

The services of the International Trade Division are offered free of charge to businesses located within the City of Middleburg Heights.



Business Organizations

All Middleburg Heights businesses are encouraged to become an active member of the Middleburg Heights Chamber of Commerce which is a non-profit, voluntary organization of people working together to promote positive and productive relations among the businesses in the City and between those businesses and the community itself.

Established in 1975, the purpose of the Middleburg Heights Chamber of Commerce is to develop and advance the commercial, industrial, civic, cultural and general interest of the City and its trade area.

 



The Berea City School District interacts with the Middleburg Heights business community through the Business Advisory Council which provides a unique opportunity for businesses to become involved with the education of students, and fostering communication between the schools, parents, and the community at large
