The Council President has all the powers of the other Council members, including the right to vote. He or she presides at all Council meetings, appoints various Council committees, assists and coordinates these committees, and performs any other duties that may be required by Council.
The Council President serves as the Acting Mayor in the event the Mayor is unable to perform his or her duties.
